Linux 에 명령행 설치기로 Denodo Platform 을 올린다. GUI 설치기(installer.sh) 도 있지만 서버에는 명령행(installer_cli.sh) 을 쓴다[1]. 설치기는 JDK 를 내장하므로 자바를 따로 준비하지 않는다. 요구사항과 준비 작업은 Denodo 사전 설정 에 있다.
설치기는 나중에 모듈을 추가할 수 없다. 당장 쓰지 않는 모듈도 처음에 함께 설치하는 것을 권장한다.
설치 패키지를 풀고 DISPLAY 를 지운 채 실행한다. 라이선스 파일(denodo.lic) 경로를 물으므로 미리 받아 둔다. 없으면 나중에 넣을 수 있다.

설치가 끝나면 최신 업데이트를 적용한다. 업데이트도 명령행으로 할 수 있다.

여러 대에 같은 구성으로 올릴 때는 응답 파일을 만들어 쓴다. generate 로 대화식 질문에 한 번 답하면 XML 이 생기고, 다른 서버에서는 그 파일로 묻지 않고 설치한다.

generate 가 묻는 항목은 설치 유형(express/custom) · 설치 경로 · 라이선스 파일 · 로캘 · 설치할 모듈 · 모듈별 포트다. 포트 기본값은 Denodo 의 포트 표와 같다.
VDP 서버가 클라이언트에 알려 줄 자기 주소를 지정한다. 기본값은 localhost 라 원격 접속이 막힌다.

Design Studio 는 http://denodo.example.net:9090/denodo-design-studio/ 로 연다. 기본 관리자 계정은 admin 이며 첫 로그인 때 암호를 바꾼다.
denodo-install-8.0 패키지로 custom 유형, 설치 경로 /opt/denodo, 로캘 us_pst 로 Virtual DataPort · ITPilot · Scheduler 를 전부 설치했다. generate 가 만든 응답 파일 response_file_8_0.xml 로 무인 설치했을 때 로그는 다음 순서였다.

라이선스 경로에 디렉터리를 주면 The selected license file is a directory: it will not be copied to /opt/denodo/conf/denodo.lic 로 건너뛴다. 파일 경로를 줘야 한다.
당시 8.0 의 포트 구성에는 ITPilot 관련 포트(Browser Pool 6001~6003 · 6100, Verification Server 7001~7003, PDF Conversion 8448) 가 더 있었다. 9.x 에는 ITPilot 이 없다.
위 버전과 저장소는 오래된 것이라 저장소가 존재하지 않을 수 있다.
